What is Decompression of Median Nerve?

Decompression of Median Nerve (Carpal tunnel syndrome) refers to pain, tingling, or numbness in one or both hands resulting from compression of the median nerve at the wrist. These symptoms are frequently worse at night, and often improve by shaking of the hand.
​​Carpal tunnel release is an outpatient procedure performed to relieve pressure on the median nerve in order to reduce carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms, which include tingling and numbness in the fingers. The transverse carpal ligament is cut to relieve pressure on the median nerve.

What are the common symptoms?
